About Stephanie
Welcome
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples. My approach integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
Treatment is tailored to your unique needs and goals, which we will define together in a collaborative, supportive environment. Our work will focus on reducing emotional and psychological distress, fostering personal growth, and strengthening your inner resilience.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Charleston in West Virginia and a Master of Social Work from CUNY Hunter College in New York City.
Early in my career, I worked with nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting low-income families facing mental health challenges. This experience deepened my understanding of the complex emotional and practical needs individuals and families navigate, and it shaped my ability to engage with empathy, respect, and clinical insight.
Working closely with families taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, relational dynamics, and the essential role of healthy interpersonal connections. I remain deeply grateful to the clients and mentors who influenced my development during those formative years. Their impact continues to guide my clinical approach and enrich my understanding of the human experience.
Let’s Work Together
I offer individual and couples therapy with a specialization in sex therapy. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions, and navigating interpersonal relationships. In my work with couples, I emphasize enhancing emotional and physical intimacy, improving communication, and strengthening connection. I utilize Imago Therapy and Gottman Therapy principles to guide my couples into healthier communication and behavioral patterns.
I believe that everyone encounters challenges—and that with the right support, growth and meaningful change are possible. Therapy provides a space to explore your experiences, clarify your goals, and begin rewriting your story with intention and self-compassion.
What I Bring to the Table
I approach therapy with deep respect for your individuality and your right to shape your own path. My role is to support and empower you as you navigate life’s complexities and work toward greater clarity, purpose, and well-being.
Together, we will explore your needs, goals, and values—while also fostering healthier relationships and a stronger sense of agency. Self-discovery is a lifelong journey, and our work can be a powerful starting point for meaningful growth and transformation.
A Sex-Positive, Inclusive Practice
I provide sex therapy within a sex-positive, affirming, and inclusive framework that honors each individual's sexual identity and expression. My approach supports clients across a wide spectrum of experiences, including those navigating sexual health concerns, healing from sexual trauma, or seeking greater intimacy and connection in their relationships.
I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA community and deeply committed to each person’s right to self-identify and live authentically. Education is a core component of my practice—I believe that accurate, open conversations about sex and sexuality are essential to emotional and relational well-being, and I integrate this into the therapeutic process.
